The best kind of friendship

My four-year-old made a new friend at preschool and talked incessantly about her. When I finally met her, the girls had their arms around each other. The friend seemed quiet and shy. She didn’t respond to my greeting, but she did except the snack I offered.

Her mom said her daughter loves my child. You see, her daughter is nonverbal my child is the first friend she’s ever had. My daughter never even noticed that her friend didn’t use words. They communicated through my daughters verbal language and through nonverbal communication. They simply figured it out by playing together. Seeing that mom’s happy tears was one of my proudest parenting moments ever. Teach your children kindness. It’s everything they need to know. make a difference in the world.
